I can't believe we all missed this

Yesterday, the 11th, was everyone's favourite Governor of Alaska, and most awesome failed vice-presidential candidate, Sarah freakin' Palin's 45th birthday.

This post had no more relevancy than that. Feel free to bitch about/defend (psshaw!) the Palinator/the Republican Party/moose hunters in the comments.

Seriously. People need to start leaving more comments here. Or Sarah will swim here via Putin's house and shoot you in the ear.

That is all.

I was watching some You-Tube clips of her the other day, for nostalgia. She was a truly awful choice...

That is a case of the party trying to fill in the demographics they weren't already appealing to, in order to try and pick up the Hilary Voters..... but not doing a heckofa lot of background research.

Did they even talk to the woman before offering her the job??? Seems like you'd figure out pretty quickly that she was pretty good at generic politics spin... but there was absolutely no substance to what she was saying. Didn't even sound like she read the newspaper or knew a heckofa lot about the world outside Alaska.

But gosh, we do miss her! Biden isn't funny at all :(

Okay, now, serious commenting. (seeing as everyone commented)

Elsie, are you serious? The Palinator might fail at being, like, intelligent, but she totally wins at life. Seriously. How many free clothes did she manage to scam off taxpayers? Clever or what!?!

ooh, also, with the whole 'Hilary/women voters thing', the scary thing is, it almost worked. like, I remember after McCain announced Palin, and there was all these articles in the paper, about what charismatic person she was, what a forceful speaker (of course, this was the dominion post). But then people started listening to the words she was actually saying.

Sarah Palin... Hopefully she'll be forgotten in the sands of time and people will wonder if she ever really existed. She was just like a cartoon character.

I think those who think she'll be a contender in the 2012 elections are mistaken, for two main reasons.

1. She does not represent in any way, shape or form the new image the Republican Party is trying to project to try and get as far away from Bush as they can. Since most people pretty much see her as Bush 2.0, it would be highly unlikely she'd get any votes from delegates with any interest in the future of the party.

2. Though she has a die hard fan base, it is pretty small in relation to to the overall voter population. To be a serious contender in the elections you need to have at least SOME centrist appeal (especially to win crucial states like Ohio and Pennsylvania), otherwise you'll end up with a Barry Goldwater situation. Unless he really screws up this term, Obama would crush her.

By the way, Miss, Biden is totally funny! In an adorable-but-sorta-annoying-old-grandpa kinda way.

All right, all right, not exactly a comedy goldmine like Palin but enough for a mildly funny Saturday Night Live impersonation. Too bad we can't say the same of Obama. That dude's just not funny.
